Victoria’s road safety camera system consists of both fixed and mobile cameras placed at carefully chosen locations.

Road safety cameras across the Victorian network are regularly tested for accuracy to confirm the equipment is working properly. Potential offences are thoroughly scrutinised and verified.

If you receive a speeding, red light or unregistered vehicle fine, you should take action to deal with your fine.

The Victorian Government is already investing more than $720 million to keep Victorians safe on the roads, including more than $100 million for infrastructure that will protect vulnerable road users.

We collect and share data about the various offences detected by the road safety camera system and the fines (infringements) associated with those offences.

Road safety cameras are used throughout the Victorian road network. We share their locations with the public.

Cameras Save Lives is managed by the Department of Justice and Community Safety and provides information about the operation and impact of Victoria’s road safety camera system.
